The Mission of the Empowerment Center is to create an empowering, rewarding experience for its members, family members, and individuals of the community by providing education, strength-based, peer-directed services and support.

ADI is responsible for providing a unique design for managing and facilitating a new approach to a recovery based psychosocial rehabilitation program. ADI provides staff members that work side-by-side with members of the Open Arms Empowerment Center to promote the common goal of improving the quality of life for consumers and creating a physical environment that provide consumers with a broad range of opportunities for growth, development and a safe place to go. This consists of Psychosocial Rehabilitation, Community Involvement and Leadership Opportunities, Education, Training and appropriate referrals for services within ADI or other community agencies. ADI provides a structured system for consumers who are at different stages of recovery. Although ADI provides them with support and a framework, the consumers are responsible for dictating the ultimate design and implementation of the program by working through the various resources made available to them by the ADI staff. This system provides consumers with an opportunity to monitor their progress as well as a broad range of opportunities for personal growth and development.

All work within the Empowerment Center is designed to promote and help individuals improve their quality of life by regaining self-worth, purpose, skills, training and confidence. It is the goal of ADI for members to acquire these skills through a community-based program similar to the Clubhouse model but focused on recovery through social skills, empowerment and training groups as well as certification. The Empowerment Center is designed to improve the quality of life for individuals by developing the necessary skills to reintegrate them into the community while improving their lifestyle and learning to become independent from institutional settings.
